I just started my second year teaching 8th grade science at Cimarron Middle School. I have two college degrees: a bachelor’s degree in zoology, as well as a bachelor’s degree in secondary education with an option in biology from Oklahoma State University. I am going to start working on my master’s in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership with an option in science starting in the spring. I am currently the New Horizon’s Science Teacher of the Year from Oklahoma Science Teacher’s Association.

To say teaching is my passion, would be an understatement. I often spend my spare time working on projects related to teaching: teaching conference presentations, research, or writing curriculum. I recently returned from a trip to Yellowstone. This trip was part of a project I am working on with a professor at Oklahoma State. We are working with one other teacher to write a book about science curriculum that ties back to Yellowstone. When I need down time, you can find me reading a good book, watching Netflix, hanging out with friends, or playing with my nephews.
